Flavia Carbonell Bellolio (Universidad de Chile)

 

Flavia Carbonell Bellolio has a degree in Legal and Social Sciences from the University of Concepción (2002) and a lawyer (Supreme Court, 2003). She has a PhD in Law, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (2013). She also has a Master in Public Law (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, 2007); a Diploma in Constitutional Law and Political Science (Centro de Estudios Políticos y Constitucionales, Spain, 2006); and a Specialty in Legal Argumentation, (University of Alicante, 2004). In recognition of his doctoral thesis, he won the 2012-2013 Extraordinary Doctoral Prize (Carlos III University of Madrid, December 2013). In addition, he won the prize for the best research work in Law (Center for Political and Constitutional Studies, October 2006) and the "Gustavo González Parada" pride to best professional practice (Judicial Assistance Corporation, Eighth Region, May 2004). She currently works as an academic and researcher at the Faculty of Law of the University of Chile (Department of Procedural Law) and as Academic Coordinator of the Doctoral Program in Law. His main lines of research are legal argumentation, judicial reasoning, ideology and judicial behaviour, presumptions, evidence, remedies and error and general theory of the process. His latest research Fondecyt is entitled "The Recitals of Politics. An empirical study of ideological arguments in the jurisprudence of the constitutional and contentious-administrative chamber of the Supreme Court" and "Error and judicial process".
